Morris Kaye how to wear a fur coat casuallyIf you’re a fur fashion enthusiast, you’re likely to receive a fantastic amount of new fur accessories for the holidays. This means you have one important job on your hands: figuring out how you’ll wear them all! While it may seem like an easy enough task, there’s a lot of thought worth putting into how to wear a fur coat casually. The good news is we’re here to help you! In this blog, we’ll go over some of the basics not only on how to wear a fur coat, but to look stylish in it!

The ‘Shabby Casual’ Look

One of the biggest trends to emerge in 2018 is looking good without putting too much time or effort into it. You may have heard others refer to this style as “shabby chic.” Well, the good news is you can pull off this look even with an expensive real fur coat!

To pull off this look, start with a plain t-shirt. You can go form-fitting or baggy, but baggier t-shirts will help you to look more fashionably “unkempt!” Layer your t-shirt over a pair of jeans or pants of any other material you like. Skinny pants are preferable, as they go well with any kind of shoe. For footwear, choose a pair of lace-up boots or sneakers. Heels boots are great for adding a feminine touch. Finally, finish the look off with your fur coat. Choose a longer coat that fits more loosely on your body for the best look.

Cute and Flirty

Just because you enjoy fur fashion doesn’t mean you have to look like an old lady (not that there’s anything wrong with that style!) A real fur coat can blend well with any style. For instance, if you’re young (or young at heart!), consider wearing a short fur coat over a simple sweater. Pair the sweater with a cute miniskirt. Any color, pattern, or fabric works! Finally, top off the look with a pair of tights (solid or patterned) and your favorite pair of boots. Ankle or mid-calf boots are preferable; you don’t want your shoes swallowing up your tights.

Minimalistic in Monochrome

There’s a bit of an impression that sticking predominantly to one color in an outfit is tacky. Some people would say it’s too “matchy-matchy.” However, it’s never what you do, but how you do it. You can easily and stylishly pull off a monochromatic outfit by following these tips!

Choose a top or sweater in a subtle accent color of your choosing. You could go off-white, light brown, grey, black, or even with a pastel color. Next, choose a pair of pants or a skirt that matches the color of your fur coat. Finally, pick a pair of shoes—heels or boots work best!—in the same accent color as your top. You’re guaranteed to look stunning while also not too samey.
